The REFLECTIONS theme for 2022-23 is 

“SHOW YOUR VOICE”

Creative students who enjoy music, art (visual arts), dance, film, literature, and photography can submit their works to be judged and potentially be recognized in local, state, and national contests!

I know you may ask, What is the PTA Reflections Program?

The PTA Reflections Program is a powerful tool for encouraging students to explore and be involved in expressing themselves in an artistic way. 
This year's Reflections theme is, SHOW YOUR VOICE.

Parents and people in the community are welcomed into the school to discover the rich culture and artistic skills presented by all students who participate. An art exhibit, and an awards ceremony will showcase how important art can be on our Millikan campus and in our children's lives. We will work diligently with the school to have a Reflections Reception at a time to be determined by myself and the PTA, after school gets underway.  However, at this time, I am encouraging every small learning community whether it's Compass, Peace, Quest, MBA or SEGA, to participate. This program is not just for art students. It’s for everyone! Just remember whether you place first or not your work will be on display for all to see.  What an awesome way to have your voice be heard. 

The PTA Reflections Art Program encourages students to:

• Unleash creative talents and be inspired.

• Express themselves imaginatively in their artwork.

• Experience the fun and joy of making art.

• Tap into critical; thinking skills to create art inspired by the annual theme.

• Receive positive recognition for their original works of art.                    

Students can participate in more than one category, there are currently six:

• Dance/choreography

• Literature

• Photography

• Film production

• Music composition

• Visual arts

Students have the chance of winning in the district level and state level. If they win at state level they will receive the following

• The opportunity to showcase their work at the California State PTA Convention.

• Prizes which consist of a medal, certificate and a $100 savings bond presented on stage at convention.
