About us
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The mission of the Millikan High School's Lady Rams Female Leadership Academy is to provide young girls with a nurturing environment that promotes self empowerment, leadership skills and success. The members of the Female Academy will receive academic, social, and cultural support through tutoring, mentorship and field trips. With opportunity and structured guidance, these young girls will become confident, strong and socially responsible young women who are equipped with the necessary skills to make positive contributions to communities – locally and globally.
Executive Summary:
To providence guidance and support to all Lady Ram Female Leadership Academy members to develop proactive leaders who are academically and socially responsible for excellence, service and community. To meet these requirements, Lady Ram Female Leadership Academy members will:
- Meet all high school graduation requirements
- Meet or exceed 60 hours service learning
- Maintain C or better (2.0 or better GPA)
- Apply for post secondary education (City College or four-year)
- Attend ALL FLA sponsored events and meetings
- Peer mentor underclassmen
- Apply for 1 or more scholarships per year
Recruitment Process: Invitation only membership - (teacher, counselor and FLA Board Member recommendation):
1. Coordinator and FLA Board Members will invite students (9th grade each fall semester; 10th and 11th each spring semester) to join FLA.
· 3 students per grade-level
2. Teachers, administrators and counselors are given qualifications for membership; students are given a personal invitation for FLA membership consideration.

- Review qualifications and expectations, including probation process
Officer Job Responsibilities
President: Works directly with the coordinator and the other FLA officers. Must attend all events and meetings.
Vice President: Oversees all FLA membership and recruitment. Must attend all events and meetings.
Treasurer: Maintains account balance records; works directly with the Event Program Directors.
Event Program Directors: Organizes fundraisers; establishes and maintains altruistic partnerships
Recording Secretary: Records all meeting minutes; submits minutes to the Corresponding Secretary.
Corresponding Secretary: Maintains correspondence with FLA alumni and sends all meeting and event reminders to members.
Historian: Maintains the club's photo journal of FLA events (school and district levels).
Grade Level Leaders: Ensure all grade expectations are met for their assigned grade level.

is a cultural icon of the United States, representing the American women who worked in factories during World War II many of whom worked in the factories that produced munitions and war supplies. These women sometimes took entirely new jobs replacing the male workers who were in the military. Rosie the Riveter is commonly used as symbol of feminism and women's economic power.[
